A mother and daughter from Mineral Point will have to get separate attorneys for their reckless homicide cases to avoid conflicts of interest. Fifty-year-old Laurie Barry and her 28-year-old daughter, Alexis Barry, face charges in the death of a teenager who was in their care two years ago. The Iowa County district attorney’s office waited more than a year before filing the charges. The Barrys had told authorities 13 year old Selah Kaden would throw herself to the ground to get attention. A forensic pathologist noted “possible restrain marks” on the victim’s wrists and said she probably suffocated to death.
