Federal data shows more than two dozen nursing homes across the state of Wisconsin reported at least one death connected to COVID-19. The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services compiled the information among Wisconsin’s 355 nursing homes – with 28 facilities reporting a total of 146 deaths. However, officials with the federal agency say that the data is incomplete – with only partial reporting or no reporting from some nursing homes. Around southwest Wisconsin, Orchard Manor in Lancaster has had 12 deaths related to coronavirus – though the federal figures only list nine. Administrator Carol Schwartz told the Wisconsin State Journal a few deaths were reported later. At Greenway Manor in Spring Green, the Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services data shows two deaths connected to COVID-19. But staff there says the facility has only had one resident die of coronavirus. An employee at Greenway Manor tested positive for COVID-19, but did not show any symptoms.
