High winds and heavy rain left destruction in parts of Grant County on Friday evening. According to a report from Grant County Emergency Management Director Steve Braun, he says his office was notified of trees down in Glen Haven along with quite a few larger trees down in the Bloomington area. Also, a shed north of Platteville near Highway 80 and Walnut Road was destroyed in the storm (images below). Braun says Grant County officials did receive a report of a possible brief tornado in the area of the damaged shed north of Platteville. His office is working with the National Weather Service in La Crosse to gather more information. The downpours during the storm caused some short-term flooding with water over roadways near Glen Haven, Bloomington and Patch Grove.
