A piece of malfunctioning construction equipment is blamed for causing a carbon monoxide leak at a Mount Horeb daycare center Thursday afternoon. Several ambulances were called to the gymnasium at the Hearts and Hands Children’s Center at about 3:00 p-m. Sixty people were inside the gym during the incident and they were tested for exposure. Four construction workers were taken to a hospital for treatment of carbon monoxide poisoning, with one of them reported to be in critical condition. First responders from the Mount Horeb Fire Department and three other agencies were helping those involved.
