UW-Platteville will receive a pair of federal Student Support Services grants, totaling almost $3-and-a-half million dollars during the next five years. According to a release from the university, these two grants will support the university’s TRIO program – which refers to Upward Bound, Talent Search and Student Support Services, the three programs within the Higher Education Act. The Student Support Services branch of the program offers academic advising, assistance with accessing campus resources, help with understanding financial aid packages, mentoring, tutoring and opportunities to participate in social and cultural activities to qualifying UWP students. The program serves students who are first generation, income eligible, or have a documented disability.
