Officials in Lancaster are interested in developing the Grant County Farm property located south of the city. According to a report, Lancaster Common Council members have approved a draft memorandum of understanding with the county for a municipal water line extension in the Grant County Farm Development Area. The farm property is located next to the Grant County Community Services Building and Orchard Manor. The memorandum concerns extending the redundant water service to the Grant County Farm and providing a second water main connection to the property. The document states that the water extension is something both the county and the city support because it will help in the development of the Grant County Farm property. The memorandum states that construction is estimated to take 18 months. Grant County supervisors have not yet considered the memorandum. It was not on the board’s May agenda, and the board is not meeting this month.
