Gard opened up with a handful of “dad jokes” during his weekly press conference but noted Minnesota is nothing to joke about.
“They’re better than their record says on paper,” Gard told reporters.
Tyler Wahl reiterated Gard’s praise of the Gophers.
“We have to make sure that they don’t get rolling when they come here,” he said.

The Gophers enter the Kohl Center with a 6-6 record, but as has been seen in conference play before, records don’t mean a thing.
“Much like what I thought of Western Michigan — that they’re better than what their record says on paper — because you see instances of it clicking because they have so many new parts and pieces that they’re trying to find that common ground that they’re all on the same page,” Gard said.
