The Darlington Police Department has made another arrest following a months long investigation into alleged sexual contacts between adult males in Darlington and underage girls, including one as young as 12. To date, five men have been arrested in what is believed to be an isolated incident between a small group of men and a small group of girls they were acquainted with. All of the men have been formally charged by the Lafayette County District Attorney’s Office. Those who lacked proper documentation to be within the United States were also referred to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement department. The most recent arrest happened last Thursday, June 14th. 24 year old Ruben Hernandez-Alarcon of Darlington was arrested for repeated sexual assault of a child. He remains jailed pending court proceedings. Others previously arrested are:
48 year old Javier Mora-Cervantes;
30 year old Jose Noel Lopez-Ortiz;
19 year old Brayan Armando Borjas-Velasquez; and
26 year old Jose Argenis Hernandez-Hernandez.
