A man from South Wayne crashed his vehicle in Green Count Saturday around 6:20am. Deputies from the Green County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle on Benkert Road, in the Town of Monroe. An investigation revealed that a vehicle operated by 21 year old Jayden Baumgartner of South Wayne was traveling north when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle then entered the north ditch and collided with a utility pole. Baumgartner sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital. The vehicle had disabling damage and was towed from the scene. An investigation resulted in Baumgartner being cited for Operating While Under the Influence and Operating Too Fast for Conditions. Baumgartner was released to a responsible party pending court.
