Deere & Company has announced plans to lay off about 100 workers from its Dubuque facility later this summer. Deere & Co. plans to lay off about 100 production employees at the Dubuque Works plant effective Aug. 30. The move is part of a broader staff reduction at three factories brought on by reduced demand for the products produced at those facilities. Approximately 280 production employees are expected to be laid off at John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Ill., along with approximately 230 production employees at John Deere Davenport Works in Davenport, Iowa. The Dubuque Works facility currently has about 2,700 total employees, including approximately 1,430 in production and maintenance jobs.
