Tennyson man arrested for OWI after striking a mailbox

On Tuesday, just before 3 PM, the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a truck that had struck a mailbox while northbound on Highway 61 near Badgerland Auto in Paris Township. The vehicle did not stop after striking the mailbox and continued northbound into the Village of Tennyson. A Deputy in the Village of Tennyson found the truck involved and initiated a traffic stop. Deputies observed open intoxicants in the truck. As a result, 52-year-old, Scott Weary of Tennyson was arrested and cited with operating while intoxicated 1st offense, possessing open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and hit and run to property adjacent to the highway.
