Authorities said an intoxicated driver crashed into a home in Lafayette County. 32-year-old Jacob P Salzmann of Benton, was arrested at approximately 4 a.m. Saturday on West Main Street in Benton on a charge of operating while intoxicated, according to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department. A press release states that Salzmann was traveling south on First Avenue Extension around 4 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle traveled through a backyard and struck a house, causing minor damage. Salzmann refused medical treatment at the scene.
