Dubuque Heritage Works founding CEO died

Heritage Works Dubuque announced on their Facebook page Monday their founding CEO, Duane Hagerty passed away after a battle with cancer. Duane joined Heritage Works at the organization’s founding in 2015. He had been its CEO and champion ever since.  Duane was a former real estate attorney who pivoted towards historic preservation and moved back to Dubuque to serve his community. Duane also served on the boards of Steeple Square and Preservation Iowa. He will be missed dearly both as a friend and an asset to the community.
