Four days after failing to do so last week, the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors succeeded in electing its officers — retaining Supervisor Harley Pothoff as board chairman. Pothoff will again chair the three-member board. That means he will sign claims to the county, run the board’s meetings and represent county government on several regional and statewide commissions. The supervisors voted unanimously — in less than one minute — in support of Pothoff, after McDonough nominated him to continue as chair in 2025.
