Police said two people sustained serious injuries in a Sunday evening shooting in Maquoketa. Two adult men sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to Jackson County Regional Health Center for initial medical treatment. The men are in “stable but serious condition.” The names of the injured individuals and the circumstances of the incident were not released by the police, and the Maquoketa Chief of Police declined to provide additional information. On Sunday at about 8 p.m., Jackson County Emergency Communications fielded a call requesting an ambulance for multiple individuals injured in a “gunshot incident.” Police responded to the 400 block of North Otto Street in Maquoketa and located the two injured men.
