Just before 8:00am on Thursday the Grant County Sheriff’s Office was notified of damage to multiple mailboxes on East Street, in the Village of Potosi, which was reported to have occurred overnight. A deputy with the Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and determined the damage was caused by a motor vehicle. The deputy was able to locate some damaged vehicle parts that were left behind and was able to identify the model and color of the vehicle involved. During the investigation, the owner of the vehicle, 45-year-old Starla Thomas of Dickeyville, was located and ultimately cited for hit and run, failure to maintain control, and operating without insurance.
