Dead Body Found In Galena

Galena Police say that officers were called about 10am Sunday for an unresponsive person along a walking path near Meeker and Jefferson Street. Upon arrival, authorities say the person was deceased. No foul play is suspected in the death. Galena Police haven’t released the name of the person at this time. According to a department report, this is an ongoing investigation with an autopsy pending. Galena Police say there is no concern for the general public’s safety.
