The Platteville Common Council has unanimously approved a nearly $1 million contract with Lee Recreation for playground equipment for the inclusive playground project at Smith Park. The bid was recommended by the Platteville Inclusive Playground Committee. The contract includes the costs of the equipment, a rubber base, and installation. Other contracts will be necessary to prepare the ground at Smith Park for the playground, to add parking and sidewalks and to update the park bathroom. The total cost of the project should be around $2.2 million. Installation could begin sometime this fall.
