Grant County Sheriff Nate Dreckman plans to seek another term in the office. the 49 year old Dreckman announced that he is running for reelection this year. Wisconsin’s general election will be held November 8, with primary elections scheduled for August 9th. Dreckman was appointed as sheriff in August 2012 after then-Sheriff Keith Govier retired. He was elected to continue in the position in 2014 and reelected in 2018. In a press release announcing his reelection bid, Dreckman said his areas of focus if reelected would be working with the county board on the communications/fiber loop project that started last year, working to “reduce the surge of methamphetamine into Grant County,” maintaining transparency and focusing on his department’s core values.
