Elevated levels of lead was found in some homes/buildings in Mineral Point according to a 2023 water quality monitoring conducted by Mineral Point Water Utility. The City of Mineral Point said the elevated results were likely due to service laterals being present on the buildings that were tested. A service lateral is apart of the water infrastructure that connects a private home or business to water infrastructure system. It is recommended that residents and business owners determine if they have a lead service lateral and plan to have it replaced as soon as possible.
