One person died and another was Medflighted to the hospital after a crash in Sauk Co. Sunday. The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office said there was a single vehicle crash on Hwy. 12 at Groth Rd. in the Town of Sumpter around 3:52 p.m. Deputies found the vehicle off the road in a wooded area. The driver, a 39-year-old woman from Dubuque, was dead, and a child was trapped inside the vehicle. Once the passenger was freed, the child was flown to UW Hospital with serious injuries. The sheriff’s office said speeding played a role in the crash. Per a press release from the Sauk County Sheriffs no further information regarding this crash will be released at this time.
