Yesterday, the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission chose not to decide on a petition aimed at blocking a casino from coming to Cedar Rapids. Riverside Casino and Washington County Riverboat Foundation filed the petition seeking to prevent the commission from granting a gaming license to Linn County. The petition argues ballot language Linn County used to extend its voter approval to request a gaming license is invalid. The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission is scheduled to make its decision on granting Linn County a gaming license at its next meeting on February 6th.
