The Belleville Fire Department is reminding residents to make sure candles are put out when not in use after an unattended candle caused a house fire Saturday morning. A homeowner in the Village of Belleville reported a fire in the living room of the home. They were able to put out the fire with an extinguisher. The home was occupied by two adults and two children who were alerted to the fire due to a working smoke detector. Belleville fire said the damage estimates to the home are unknown. No injuries were reported.
