To combat substance abuse and the proliferation of communicable disease, four new health boxes have placed in different parts of Crawford County over the past month to help distribute free health and wellness materials to the public. The boxes include fentanyl test strips, Narcan, personal hygiene products, condoms, COVID tests, basic first aid kits, and gun locks. The boxes are monitored by Public Health Department to replenish supplies. The four boxes are located at the Crawford County Administrative building in Prairie du Chien, the Ferryville Fire Department, the Ocooch Mountain Rescue building in Gays Mills, and the Wauzeka City Hall. All the boxes are stationed outside of the building to help make them accessible and anonymous to use.
