Two arrested for drugs following Mineral Point traffic stop

On Tuesday just after 9:30 PM, Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies and K9 Fenix conducted a traffic stop on Highway 151 and North Oak Park Rd in the Township of Mineral Point. As a result of the stop, 53-year-old Shellie R. McCane of Manchester, IA and 42-year-old Michael D Scates of Madsion, WI were arrested on the charges of Possession with intent to Deliver Amphetamine, Possession with Intent to Deliver Designer Drugs, Possession with Intent to Deliver THC, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, Possession of with Intent to Deliver Narcotic Drugs, Possession of Electronic Weapon, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia to Manufacture, Compound, Produce, or Store Methamphetamine. Scates was also charged with Resisting or Obstructing an Officer. McCane and Scates were transported to the Iowa County Jail where they remain, awaiting a bond hearing.
