A Jo Daviess County man arrested Thursday evening after he avoided arrest during an hours long stand-off that started Wednesday and lasted into Thursday. On Thursday at 6:31 P.M., the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a suspicious person at the Eagle Ridge Country Store in the Galena Territory. An employee at the store recognized 53-year-old Enrique Silva and knew law enforcement was looking for him. Several deputies responded to the scene and when Silva observed deputies he took off on foot. Deputies apprehended Silva a short time later without incident. Silva was transported by Galena EMS for precautionary measures to Midwest Medical Center. Silva was released from Midwest Medical Center and taken to the Jo Daviess County Sheriff’s Office. Silva was placed under arrest for his two outstanding warrants, and charged with Resisting Arrest and Possession of Firearm without a Valid Firearm owner ID Card.
