A Dubuque man accused of attempted murder has a new trial date. 32-year-old Lorenzo Eggleston is charged in Iowa District Court of Dubuque County with attempted murder, willful injury causing serious injury, going armed with intent, participation in a riot, unlawful assembly and assault with a dangerous weapon. He has pleaded not guilty. Eggleston’s trial now is set to begin April 16. It previously had been set for April 2. The charges relate to a May 28 incident in which court documents state 26-year-old Cory M. Jones arrived at MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center with multiple stab wounds. Jones reported that he was “jumped” by a group of men near West 15th Street and Central Avenue.
