128.8 lbs of medications collected during drug take back event

During Saturday’s Drug Take Back event, the Dubuque Drug Task Force, in conjunction with the Asbury, Cascade, and Dyersville Police Departments collected nearly 130 lbs. of medications. The total weight of prescription and non-prescription medication collected the day of the event was 128.8 pounds. The total weight of sharps collected was 227.6 pounds. In addition, between April of 2026 and October of 2026 a total weight of 318.3 pounds of prescription medication and non-prescription medication was collected at various drop box locations. The combined total weight of medications collected during the event was 447.1 pounds. The items collected will be incinerated at a later date.
