An administrative hearing to determine whether Northeast Iowa Community College’s board of trustees was justified in voting to terminate the college president’s contract ended Wednesday. A ruling in the case is expected next month. Herbert Riedel was placed on paid administrative leave by the NICC board of trustees on Oct. 9, and board members unanimously voted to proceed with termination procedures on Nov. 20. Riedel requested the private hearing to determine whether there was just cause for the board to seek his termination. He remains on paid administrative leave.
