Over 50 experts will speak in Platteville next month at a conference focused on rural entrepreneurship. The Connecting Entrepreneurial Communities Conference will take place in Platteville on May 30 and 31. The conference will be hosted by the Rural Wisconsin Entrepreneurship Initiative from the Community Economic Development Program at University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension. Over 50 speakers will present on 16 topics related to economic development in Wisconsin’s small towns. Speakers will present for attendees across the city to highlight Platteville’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Other Midwestern states host the CEC Conference on an annual basis, but this year marks its Wisconsin debut. Given its southwest Wisconsin location, the conference will include a special focus on the economic development of the Driftless Region. Those interested in attending can view the conference schedule and register online at go.wisc.edu/cec.
