Green County Sheriff Skatrud To Retire

After 43 years in law enforcement, Green County Sheriff Jeff Skatrud is stepping down. In a Facebook announcement Wednesday, Skatrud said he will retire on June 30, saying it’s been an honor and a privilege to serve the people of Green County since 1981. He also mentioned his gratitude for the partnerships and friendships he has cultivated over the years. Skatrud cited physical challenges as the reason for his retirement.
