Officials said lightning struck a house and started a small fire this morning in Dubuque. Firefighters responded at approximately 5 a.m. to a residence on Florence Street for a report of a fire inside a house following a lightning strike, according to a press release. A reports says that seven Dubuque Fire Department vehicles and 14 firefighters initially responded to the scene. Fire was visible at the top of the structure and firefighters applied water directly to the flames. All occupants had left the house safely and there were no injuries.
