One arrested following welfare check in Avoca

One person was arrested following a welfare check in Avoca. Early Tuesday morning the Iowa County Communications Center received a request for a welfare check at a residence in the 400 block of North 7th Street in Avoca. Iowa County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the location and conducted the check and a subsequent investigation. As a result, 47-year-old Kevin L Ellenson was arrested on criminal charges of Battery, Strangulation/Suffocation, False Imprisonment, and Disorderly Conduct. Ellenson was transported to the Iowa County Jail and booked.
