A stolen ambulance with a patient inside was involved in a police pursuit in central Wisconsin Tuesday. The Wisconsin Rapids Fire Department says the ambulance was parked outside of a home when a man on the run from the law jumped into the driver’s seat. One paramedic got out of the ambulance to assess the situation while a second paramedic who tried to stop the man was forced out of the vehicle. The ambulance then took off and was chased down State Highway 73 until police in Pittsville deployed stop sticks to disable the vehicle which drove into a field. The man who took the ambulance was arrested while the patient inside was transported to a hospital following the chase.
