A woman accused of stabbing and killing her estranged husband in Iowa County will stand trial, according to online court records. 67-year-old Kelli Nechkash had her preliminary hearing Tuesday in Iowa County Court. She is charged with first-degree intentional homicide of 62-year-old Todd Nechkash Sr. The criminal complaint said Nechkash Sr. suffered over a dozen stab wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide. Multiple pieces of evidence were found in Kelli Neckhash’s car when she was arrested for 8th offense OWI including a large kitchen knife stained with blood, the victim’s phone and medication. Kelli Nechkash faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of extended supervision, if convicted. Her bond was previously set at $1 million. An arraignment hearing for Nechkash is scheduled for April 6.
