The Dubuque County Board of Supervisors voted Monday to sell the county fairgrounds to the Dubuque County Fair Association for $1. Supervisors Harley Pothoff and Wayne Kenniker voted yes. Supervisor Ann McDonough voted no. Supervisor McDonough requested the purchase agreement include a reverter clause that would return the property to the county if the fair association dissolves, but County Attorney Scott Nelson said the clause expires after 21 years under state law. The county now must deed the property to complete the sale.
