Several area groups received project approval by the State Building Commission, paving the way for local infrastructure improvement and community development across the state. The approval comes after Governor Tony Evers announced Wednesday that the Wisconsin State Building Commission met to approve $248 million in projects across the state. In addition to regular maintenance and repairs at several state buildings, the funding also includes $50 million for 71 local infrastructure improvement and community development projects statewide. Local organizations that received funding include the Mineral Point Opera House, the American Players Theatre, Friends of the Mining & Rollo Jamison Museums, and Shullsburg’s Badger Mine & Museum. The City of Prairie du Chien also received money for their public safety center.
