A multi-phase Iowa Department of Transportation (IDOT) repair project on the Julien Dubuque Bridge begins Monday, June 1. The repairs will cause partial and full closures of the bridge until work is completed in mid-September. The first phase of the project will close the eastbound lane of the bridge during the day beginning June 1, until early July. A detour will be in place that takes vehicles across the Wisconsin Bridge, then to East Dubuque. The Julien Dubuque Bridge will be completely closed from early July to early August. A shuttle will be available for those who walk or bike over the bridge from the Dubuque Intermodal Transportation Center and the East Dubuque Public Library. Reservations for rides should be made 24 hours in advance by calling 563-589-4196.
