The Lansing car ferry has temporarily reduced the number of vehicles it can transport due to declining water levels in the Mississippi River. The ferry announced Wednesday morning on Facebook that it must limit vehicle capacity as a safety precaution while river levels remain below normal. The vessel typically carries up to 12 vehicles at full capacity but is now restricted to nine vehicles per trip. Ferry operators warned passengers to expect longer wait times as a result of the capacity reduction.
