Green County man charged with child pornography

Charges were filed last week in a months-long investigation of a man accused of having child sexual abuse material in Green County. The Green County Sheriff’s Office began an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation of 67-year-old Jerry Pagel, of Albany, in December 2025 after receiving three cybertips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Law enforcement searched Pagel’s home in February 2026 and took him into custody on a charge of obstructing. He posted bond for that offense and was released. Investigators continued looking into the case and, last Thursday, Pagel was charged with three felony counts of possession of child pornography. A warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was taken into custody last Friday evening. Pagel appeared in court on Monday and was issued a $20,000 cash bond. His next court appearance is set for Oct. 1.
