More than 30 years after Tupac Shakur was fatally shot in Las Vegas, Duane “Keffe D” Davis has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for orchestrating the rapper’s murder.
The sentencing follows Davis’ conviction in August 2026. Prosecutors argued that he helped organize the September 1996 shooting as retaliation for an earlier confrontation involving his nephew, Orlando Anderson, and members of Shakur’s entourage.
During the sentencing hearing, Tupac’s sister, Sekyiwa Shakur, described the lasting emotional impact of losing her brother. His brother, Mopreme Shakur, also addressed the court, reflecting on the family milestones the rapper never experienced.
