1 dead; Platteville woman injured in Green County crash

A man died after a head-on crash in Green County Tuesday night. The Green County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred just before 6:40 p.m. in the W8300 block of Highway 11, in Cadiz. Early findings of an investigation showed a van traveling west on the highway and an SUV traveling east collided head-on. The SUV driver, a 23-year-old Platteville woman, had to be extricated from her vehicle and was taken to a hospital for her injuries. The van driver, a 56-year-old man, died at the scene. Tt is unclear whether either driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Both vehicles’ airbags did deploy. The crash is still under investigation. It marks the sixth traffic death in Green County this year.
