The Grant County Sheriff’s Department has released details of a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 151 near Cuba City. At around 4pm, a truck driven by 47 year old James Vanvors of Dubuque collided with a vehicle driven by 27 year old Taylor Brandt of Dubuque, who was traveling with her juvenile child. Both vehicles were traveling south on Highway 151 near Exit 1. Vanvors moved from the right lane into the left passing lane. His vehicle left the roadway onto the gravel shoulder and began to slide. Vanvors vehicle came back across the passing lane and struck the driver’s side of Brandt’s vehicle. Both vehicles slid from the roadway into the grass median. Brandt’s vehicle rolled several times and came to rest on its roof back in the south bound lanes. Vanvors’s vehicle continued from the median and crossed both north bound lanes. The truck traveled over 100 yards into a wooded area before stopping. Vanvors, Brandt, and her child were taken to Finley Hospital in Dubuque for non life threatening injuries. Vanvors was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated. Both vehicles had heavy damage and were towed from the scene.
