After 20 years of service, the Democratic leader of the Wisconsin Senate says she is ready to step down from office after her current term. Jennifer Shilling of La Crosse announced on Thursday that she will not seek re-election in district 32. Schilling is finishing her third term in the Senate after being elected in a 2011 special election. She previously served as the State Representative for the 95th Assembly District. She was elected to serve as the Senate Minority Leader in 2014 and is the longest serving female leader in Wisconsin legislative history.
