Muscoda Man Killed In Iowa County Traffic Crash

A traffic fatality was reported by Iowa County authorities on Tuesday. A man from Muscoda was killed and two others were injured when a vehicle struck a highway maintenance truck near Avoca. According to the Iowa County Sheriff’s Department, 71 year old James Krueger was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 65 year old Laura Krueger of Muscoda, was taken by ambulance to Richland Hospital in Richland Center, and maintenance truck driver, 63 year old Leslie Evans of Dodgeville, was taken by ambulance to Upland Hills Health in Dodgeville. The crash happened on Highway 133, east of Avoca, at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday. Reports say that James Krueger was driving west when his vehicle struck the rear of an Iowa County Highway Department maintenance vehicle driven by Evans. The maintenance vehicle was sweeping gravel debris off the highway.
