The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is investigating after they said FoodShare members received fake texts asking for personal information. DHS officials said they received complaints that FoodShare members received a text instructing them to call a phone number and confirm their account and PIN numbers to avoid being locked out of their benefits. In response to the scam, DHS is discontinuing and replacing all QUEST cards compromised by the scam and reviewing whether benefits should be replaced for each individual member impacted. Officials said DHS FoodShare texts and emails will never ask members for personal information.
