A Dubuque County home is considered a total loss after a fire Monday evening, though no injuries were reported. Firefighters responded at about 6:40 p.m. Monday to a residence on Thunder Road, northwest of Holy Cross, Iowa, for a report of a structure fire. First responders arrived to find the back half of the house on fire. The residents had evacuated the structure. The fire appears to have been caused by a gas grill outside the residence and is not deemed suspicious. No injuries were reported stemming from the blaze.
