During the month of March, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation into numerous road signs being stolen or damaged in the Township of Wauzeka and Prairie du Chien. An investigation determined that 20 year old Reed Stenner of Wauzeka, was the person responsible for stealing or damaging the road signs. Stenner used his Ram 2500 pickup truck to push over the signs. A majority of the signs that were stolen have been recovered. Stenner has been charged with multiple counts of theft and damage to property; charges to include restitution. Also, he was cited for failure to notify police of an accident, hit and run to property adjacent to the roadway, and operating left of center. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Crawford County Highway Department.
