There were no injuries to report from a structure fire over the weekend. The Platteville Fire Department was paged about 8:30 Saturday Night to 2492 State Road 81. Fire Chief Ryan Simmons said enroute they were advised there may be a person still inside the residence. The Platteville Fire Department was able to get everyone out of the structure within 6 minutes of being paged. There was an active fire showing from one of the bedrooms on the second floor upon arrival. The fire was contained quickly and firefighters spent about three hours on the scene. The Lancaster Fire Department and the Grant County Sheriff’s Department provided assistance. The fire is still under investigation.
