6th Offense OWI For Man Wanted For Disturbance in Richland County

On Friday, May 3rd, 2024 at approximately 4:00 PM a DNR Warden located a vehicle wanted in Richland County in reference to a disturbance that happened in Richland County. The vehicle was stopped on Highway 60 at Richolson Road in the Township of Prairie Du Sac.  The operator of the vehicle was identified as 45-year-old Brian Mertins, of Racine. During contact with Mertins a deputy with the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office noted signs of impairment. Mertins was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated – 6th Offense. Mertins was transported to the Sauk County Jail. Sauk County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Wisconsin DNR and Sauk Prairie Police Department.
